The New Original Henry .44-40 WCF, .45 Colt

The Rebirth Of A Legend

Benjamin Tyler HenryIn the late 1850s, metallic cartridges were the coming wave of firearms technology, and besides the difficulties inherent to developing reliable and effective self-contained rounds the new ammunition demanded equally new gun designs capable of taking full advantage of what the quick-loading cartridge offered. Cartridges that revolutionized a field of slow-loading, slow-firing, and slow-reloading powder & ball single-shots freed designers to create a rifle that could keep up, and the very talented Benjamin Tyler Henry quickly stepped to the front in both areas. The result was the legendary repeating rifle that became known as the 1860 Henry, in .44 Henry Rimfire.

A pioneering design in a reliable and practical lever action repeater, and adopted in limited numbers during the Civil War, the Henry was the 16-shot rifle referred to as “the rifle you could load on Sunday and shoot all week long.”

In the days when the average soldier was expected to be able to fire up to three rounds per minute through his muzzle-loading Springfield rifle, a small unit armed with Henry rifles could provide the firepower of an entire company. That ground-breaking lever action rifle design was the foundation for a uniquely American class of long guns that’s still with us today, over 155 years later.

With great effort, and more than a little pride in a job well done, we’ve brought back the Original Henry Rifle, made entirely on US soil, just as B. T. Henry’s rifles were. Our Henry Original is true to Henry’s 1860 patterns and patents, and virtually identical aside from concessions necessary to adapt to the .44-40 and .45 Colt centerfire rounds that replaced the long-obsolete rimfires. This H011 and H011C use a specially-formulated hardened brass receiver with the same tensile strength as steel and they are fitted with a one-piece octagonal barrel and magazine, fancy grade American Walnut stocks, a classic folding ladder rear sight and blade front, traditional half-cock safety hammer notch, and no modernized manual safeties. Both calibers share a 24.5″ barrel with a 13 round capacity.

Civil War era Henry rifles can sell for up to $250,000 at current auctions; with serials beginning with BTH in his honor, this is your chance to own, shoot, and display one of the most important rifles ever made.

Henry Rifles Customers-Steve BloomGood Day Mr. Imperato,

Having just received my Original Henry Rifle several weeks ago I wanted to forward a comment on the incredible fit, finish and operation of the firearm. I’ve already had it out to the range & the accuracy is as impressive at its craftsmanship. As someone who owns and fires actual period rifles from a Remington Rolling Block to Marlin 1881’s, Winchester ’73 & ’76’s and even a Whitney-Kennedy 44/40 rifle I consider this Henry as much a historic heirloom as the older firearms. Thank you.

Henry Rifles Customers- Larry NelsonI just purchased a new Original Henry. It is amazing the most beautiful rifle i’ve ever seen. I have the Big Boy in 45 cal. and I bought my son a Golden Boy in 22 mag. We love our rifles. But this 44-40 is unbelievable Thank you so much for you, your company and your commitment to the quality you don’t see to much anymore. If every company was as committed as yours, America would be great again.

GOD BLESS

Henry Rifles Customers- William GriemeDear Mr. Imperato,

After having recently taken delivery of a Henry Original rifle in .45 Colt I simply had to write to you. The fit, finish and quality of craftsmanship cannot be overstated. The butt stock is easily the most beautifully grained wood I’ve ever seen on any long arm. I finally had the opportunity today to sight in the rifle and as I expected I was not disappointed as the accuracy more than lives up to the Henry reputation. As to why I purchased this particular model I’ll be brief. My stepfather had an original Henry that had been purchased new by his great grandfather I believe in 1862 or 1863 and it had been kept in the family for generations. Unfortunately a few years ago he incurred some medical bills and decided to sell it to a major outdoor retailer. As part of the deal they gave him a HRA reproduction chambered in .44-.40. Although I never had the chance to see the original rifle he did show me his current Henry and I knew then and there I’d own one someday. Although this is my first Henry purchase I assure you it will not be my last!

I would like to personally thank you and every single person at HRA for not only producing an extremely high quality AMERICAN MADE product but also for the wonderful support of the shooting sports and the second amendment . It is my sincere hope that both you and all the employees of HRA continue to be successful for many years to come and I thank you again for producing such a time honored iconic rifle as the Henry Original.

Sincerely Yours,

William Grieme

Greetings,

My wife gave me The Original Henry in 44-40 for Christmas. It’s an excellent rifle. We have a period correct 1880’s chuckwagon. We cook at Cowboys for Heroes and Wagons for Warriors events in Texas, Kansas and Missouri. Besides being a shooter, it will be displayed on the wagon as part of the wagons living history. The wagon is like a mobile museum.

Sincerely

Rick Smith

Henry Rifles Customers- Michael MaysHi Anthony:

I saw the new show on the discovery channel this past Saturday. Very good. I enjoyed it.

I am a member of the Henry Rifle Company which is a group of guys that do Civil War reenacting with Henry Rifles. I have the Henry H011 which I proudly use in the Civil War events. I also use it for target shooting and I find that it is a very accurate rifle.

Enclosed is a good action shot of me in my Civil War uniform with my Henry Rifle. I hope that you like it.

Henry Rifles Customers-Tom KipferMr Imperato,

I know you must hear this daily but let me add my voice and words to the countless others.

Thank You so much for restoring part of our American heritage and keeping it uniquely American.

I was first introduced to your company back in 2010 when you partnered with the Boy Scouts to produce the Golden Boy for their Centennial. As a youth, I enjoyed shooting 22 rifles at camp and participated in marksmanship competitions. I earned the rank of Eagle in 1985 but drifted away from the program until my son became of age in 2010. I celebrated my reentry to scouting (after 25 years) with a purchase of your rifle.

On that day in 2010, another new interest emerged, a love for firearm collecting. I am now an Assistant Scoutmaster in a troop with 150 boys and a proud firearm collector with six Henry Rifles. It’s a great day when those interests intersect and the boys and their dads can experience shooting a Henry rifle.

It was a great honor meeting you in Louisville this past weekend. That excitement carried forward and today I am happy to say I purchased a Henry Original (BTH05961)… as an early Fathers Day present.

Again, thank you for restoring this part of our American heritage. The Henry Original is now the pride of my collection and part of my story.

Henry Rifles Customers-RichardI don’t have a huge collection of rifles, but what I do have are very I modern, rather expensive and task specific. I had wanted a Henry for a long time and recently purchased one (H006 C). It instantly became my favorite rifle! What a blast to shoot!! It is light weight, well balanced and accurate. In terms of aesthetics; it’s a knock out! (In my humble opinion.)

I originally bought this gun as rather expensive wall art for my very rustic home. Though it is a piece of art, it is also a fine weapon. I fired ten shots at the 8 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ target. I needed to adjust the sight a bite; which accounts for the low shot. These shots were made from about 40 yds.

Sincerely,

Richard… in the Nevada desert
